POSITION: SALES REPRESENTATIVE / TRANSPORTATION BROKER

For the past 20 years, we have been operating an asset based division within Canada and have expanded by adding a third party logistics division. This has enabled our clients to leverage our purchasing power and expertise to benefit their US - Canada cross border logistics. Dedicated Freight Systems is searching for an inside sales representative responsible for expanding new accounts by building relationships with prospective customers and coordinating / arranging the transportation of goods in an efficient, timely and cost-efficient manner.
- Prospect and develop strong professional relationships via phone, e-mails and outside sales visits - in order to sell transportation brokerage services.
- Drive profit (margin) through effective negotiation
- Provide full cycle customer service from contract to delivery: Understand the customers’ shipping needs, negotiate rates, contract carriers / trucking companies in order to find the most efficient shipping option, provide order tracking and ultimately delivery confirmation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain the flow of business information with a sense of urgency.
- Manage your own book of business; be both available and accountable to your customers
- Minimum of 3 years working in freight operations
- Highly proficient in the use of MS Office, Load Link and freight management systems
- College / University or equivalent working experience
- Well-organized and self-motivated to achieve performance objectives
- Detail oriented while handling multiple tasks
- Strong negotiation skills
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong client and carrier relationships
